Account deletion policy

You can delete your The Bugs Land account whenever you want. This page explains who can request it, how to do it, the 14-day period to change your mind, what data is deleted, what is kept without personal data and how long the whole process takes.

1. Who can request it

The account holder, from inside the game or by writing from the account e-mail.

A parent or legal guardian of a minor can request the deletion of the minor’s account, giving the player name and the account e-mail.

2. How to request it

In the game: tap your portrait in the top bar to open your Profile, go to “Delete account”, type your player name exactly and confirm. You will see the date on which it will be deleted.

By e-mail: write to hello@thebugsland.com from your account e-mail with the subject “Delete my account” and include your player name.

3. Identity verification

In the game, your signed-in session and your typed player name confirm it is you.

By e-mail we only act on requests sent from the account e-mail. If a parent or guardian writes, or the message comes from another address, we may ask for extra details to check the link with the account before deleting it. We will never ask for your password.

4. 14-day period and how to cancel

When you request it, the deletion is scheduled 14 days later. We send you a notice by e-mail and your other devices are signed out.

During those 14 days you can cancel it with the “Cancel deletion” button in the Refuge or in your Profile. Also, if you sign in again during that time, the deletion is cancelled automatically.

Once the period is over, the deletion cannot be undone.

5. What is deleted

Your e-mail, your password and the link to your Google account.

Your sessions, known devices, recovery codes, your friend code, your friendships, your blocks, the reports you sent and the detailed recordings of your fights.

You lose your BUUL coins, characters, eggs, fusions, gear, trophies and progress forever: they cannot be recovered or moved to another account.

Anonymous usage statistics were never linked to your account and delete themselves after 14 days.

6. What is kept without personal data

Your player name is replaced with “Jugador borrado #xxxx” (deleted player) and your account disappears from the rankings.

So the game economy still adds up, we keep the coin ledger entries and fight summaries without any e-mail, name or contact details, together with aggregated statistics that identify no one.

7. How long it takes

An automatic task checks every hour for accounts whose period has ended and anonymizes them; it normally happens within the hour after the 14 days end.

Encrypted backups rotate on their own: daily copies are kept for 14 days and weekly copies for 8 weeks. After that, your data no longer exists in any copy. If we ever had to restore a backup, we would apply the deletion again.

8. Download your data first

Before deleting your account you can download a copy of everything we keep as a JSON file from Profile › Privacy and data › “Download my data”.
