Getting started
What is The Bugs Land?
A collecting and fighting game set in a fantasy garden. You choose a clan, get an egg and find out which character hatches. Then you grow your collection by playing Versus and Exploration.
How do I create an account?
Tap “Create account”, choose your clan (Ants or Bugs), enter a unique player name, your e-mail and a password of at least 8 characters, and tick the “I accept the terms and conditions” box. We don't ask for your date of birth. When you finish you get your first egg.
Is it free? Are there purchases?
Yes, it's free. There are no real-money purchases at all: BUUL coins are earned only by playing, and the season pass is free too. There are no ads.
Which devices can I play on?
In any modern browser on a computer, tablet or phone. You can also install the website as an app from your browser menu (“Add to Home Screen”).
Which languages is it available in?
In Spanish and English, both the website and the game. Change the language with the selector in the top bar or the footer; the game uses the same language.
How do the controls work? Do I have to turn my phone?
The game is played in landscape: on a phone or tablet, turn it sideways and we'll offer you full screen. On phones and tablets you play with on-screen touch buttons; on a computer, with the keyboard or a gamepad. In Options you can change the button size and choose between Assisted and Classic controls.
Clans
Which clans are there?
Two: the Ants, who build and defend the colony, and the Bugs, a clan full of different ways of life. Each has six characters.
Can I change clans?
No. Your clan is permanent. To join the other clan you need to create another account.
Is one clan stronger than the other?
No. Both clans have equivalent characters role by role, so choosing is about style, not advantage.
Can I have characters from the other clan?
No. Your wallet only holds characters of your clan.
Eggs and characters
Can I choose my first character?
No. Your first egg reveals a random character from the clan you chose.
How do I get more eggs?
By winning fights in Versus or earning coins and points in Exploration. You can also create fusions in Bridge.
Can I get a duplicate character?
No. Characters from your eggs never repeat.
What happens when I have every character of my clan?
Your collection will be complete. You can keep creating fusions in Bridge to discover new characters.
What are the odds of each egg?
Every character of your clan you don't have yet has the same chance of hatching, and you never get a duplicate. The exact values are published on the Marketplace page (“Odds” section) and in the game before you open the egg.
What is the element?
Each character has an element (Fire, Water, Plant, Earth or Air) that forms a cycle of advantages in combat. You can see it on each character's card.
Bridge and fusions
What is Bridge?
The place where you fuse two characters from your wallet to create an egg that hatches a new character with traits of both.
Can I fuse an Ant with a Bug?
No. You can only fuse two Ants or two Bugs already in your wallet.
Does the order of the characters matter?
Yes. A + B and B + A give different characters, so each clan has 30 possible fusions.
Do I lose the characters I fuse?
No. Both characters stay in your wallet after the fusion.
Can I save the same fusion twice?
No. Each fusion is saved only once in your collection.
Game modes
What is Versus?
The fighting mode: 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 battles against the computer, online players or mixed teams. Winning fights gives you eggs.
What is Exploration?
You roam the garden with one of your characters, collect coins and baskets, cut through obstacles and discover new paths.
Which characters can I use?
The ones in your wallet, in both modes.
Marketplace and coins
What are BUUL coins? Do they have real value?
It is the only currency in the game. It is earned only by playing and spent on baskets, gear, the nest, training and the Bridge. It has no real value: it can't be bought or exchanged for money, and it can't be sold, gifted or moved to another account.
How do I earn coins?
By playing Versus and Exploration, completing missions, opening the daily basket and with league and tournament rewards.
What's inside the baskets?
BUUL coins and, in every basket you buy, a guaranteed egg whose character hatches at a higher level the better the basket. They give no items. The daily basket is free and gives coins only. The exact values are on the Marketplace page and in the game before you open it.
Family and privacy
Can children play?
Yes. Minors need the authorization of their mother, father, guardian or another responsible adult to create an account. There's no chat or messaging between players, no ads and no purchases, and ranking names go through a word filter. The game includes a session reminder, off by default, that you can turn on in Options.
Is there chat between players?
No. Nobody can message you through the game. Other players only see your player name, level, clan and league in the rankings.
What data do you keep?
Only what's needed to play: your player name, e-mail, clan, progress, collection, balances and fights, which we use to validate rewards and prevent cheating. We don't ask for your date of birth, real name, address or phone number. All the details are in the Privacy policy.
How do I delete my account?
Write to us from your account's e-mail, including your player name, through the contact channel published in the Privacy policy. A mother, father or guardian can also request it for the account of a minor in their care. Deleting it removes your collection, balances and history.
Account and security
I forgot my password. What do I do?
On “Sign in”, tap “Forgot your password?” and enter your e-mail. We'll send you a 6-digit code (it expires in 10 minutes); if it doesn't arrive, you can request another one after 30 seconds. Once it's verified you choose your new password.
Can I change my player name?
Not for now. Choose carefully: it must be unique and appropriate under the Code of conduct.
How long does my session last?
Your session lasts 30 days on the same browser. It ends when you sign out or change your password. If you sign in from a new device we'll let you know by e-mail.
How do you protect my data?
Your password is stored encrypted, never in plain text. See the Privacy policy for all the details.
Can I sign in with Google?
Yes. If you already have an e-mail and password account, “Continue with Google” with the same e-mail signs in to that same account. If you created the account with Google, you can add a password with “Forgot your password?”. To create a new account with Google, choose your clan first.
